I am unable to get any sound from the SOMO 14D.

I am using a SO 14D in stand alone (key mode), with the following configuration:

3.36VDC supply (rated at 500mA)
250uF capacitor across the power rails
8 ohm 0.5 or 0.25 watt speaker wired to speaker output
Breakout of various control buttons to ground

Using the example files, the BUSY indicator comes on during playing, but i hear nothing (other than a very very faint pop when it starts playing). I have tried resetting (which causes the LED i have hooked up to BUSY to come on for a short while), next, play, etc. with no luck.

I also have connected an O scope to both AUDIO and SPK+/- and every time it plays, the output is completely flat.

I am using the example ad4 files provided on a 2GB SD card formatted with FAT16 on a windows XP computer.

Any ideas on what I could try next?

Try changing your utility tools'  file conversion rate.

Sounds like classic uSD card compatibility issues to me.  Do you have any other uSD cards that are LESS then 2GB in size?

Also, what brand of uSD card?
Several brands are KNOWN to give issues...

The demo files ALWAYS work in button mode, if the card is compatible and the format is correct.

Can you hook up an amplifier to the audio out pin(NOT the speaker output), and see if you have sound that way?
Actually, while I am at it - which output are you trying to use - Speaker or line-out?

EDIT: Opps - I note this thread is pretty old - he's probably given up by now if he could not get it to work...
